Research Interests


Structural and molecular forms of trace metal(loid)s in biological and environmental matter; relationships between elemental speciation and contaminant distribution, mobility, bioavailability, and detoxification.

Application of molecular environmental science to approaches that combine phytotechnology and biogeochemical reactions for the purpose to containing, removing, or degrading contaminants in soils, sediments, and waters.

Structure and surface reactivity of natural nanomaterials, with applications to biogeochemical cycling of elements.
