We primarily study geodynamical vertical motions and the formation of topography, in particular in continental collision zones, the erosion processes acting on this topography, the resulting evolution of the relief, and the geodynamical and climatic signals evident in the associated sedimentary records. We make geological observations of lithospheric processes on a wide range of timescales, from 100 years (studying for example historical seismicity), to more than 100 Ma (studying the life cycle of a mountain range). We quantify such geological processes, in particular using the tools available through the Geo-ThermoChronology Platform (GTC), and we model them to understand both internal forcing, including mantle dynamics, and external forcing, including the influence of climatic changes on erosion processes, as well as the feedbacks between them.
