Project description

This project is a continuation of the ANR DARE project, under which two seismic networks were deployed to characterize the Tricastin basin and its site effects on a large scale. The aim here is to complete our knowledge of the basin on a smaller scale, at a specific site located on the southern edge of the previous deployments. This site lies directly beneath a geological structure identified on seismic profiles, but with properties that are still poorly constrained, particularly in terms of S-wave velocities (VS). Numerical simulation results from the DARE project show that this structure has a significant effect on seismic amplification in the basin, but these results need to be refined by improving the VS model associated with this structure. Supervision of an internship by François Lavoué and Pierre Boué (Waves team), in collaboration with Cécile Cornou and Marc Wathelet (GRE team), as well as Céline Gélis and Marc Cushing (IRSN).
