Geodesy

The monitoring and observation services in ISTerre’s geodesy department primarily involve permanent GNSS measurements, Alpine, national, and European contributions and the OSUG observatory service. All of this takes place within the framework of INSU’s SNO-RENAG and EPOS.

Permanent Alpine GNSS network - RENAG Alps

**RENAG-Alpes : GNSS monitoring and observation services in the northern French Alps***Scientific objectives
Continuous measurements of GNSS stations’ various positions throughout the Alps allow us to monitor the progressive deformation of the Alps. This deformation generates a moderate but persistent seismicity. Significant quantification (±0.1 mm/an) of this deformation requires high quality observations over long duration (min. 5-10 years).
Our second objective is to monitor tropospheric (...)

Geodetic products

Several massive GNSS data processing workflows are currently carried out at ISTerre. We use the GAMIT/GLOBK software (double-difference processing) and the GipsyX software (PPP processing) in the framework of several European projects to generate different GNSS products (time series of positions, secular velocities, discontinuities/offsets).
