Velocimetric network: RLBP Alpes

**Scientific objectives

The Broadband Permanent Network (RLBP) enables the study of the Earth’s crust and mantle throughout France, and to locate earthquakes on the French mainland.

**Organization

ISTerre’s monitoring and observation services is in charge of the installation, management, and monitoring of all stations in the northern Alps’ Broadband Permanent Network (RLBP), whose data is distributed by the RESIF database. This network’s development is part of the master plan for RESIF, a national project that is currently working on creating a dense seismological and velocimetric network for mainland France. ISTerre personnel are highly involved in strategic planning and set-up for all technical and scientific aspects of the RESIF project, and assist with the expansion of new Alpine stations.

**Implementation

A dozen broadband stations are currently operating in the northern Alps.
