The Geodynamo team studies the magnetic field of the Earth and the physics of the Earth core.

To achieve this, we use:

• Analogic experiments (like DTS) with global rotation and/or liquid sodium.
• Innovative inversion techniques to determine flow in Earth’s core from magnetic field measurements.
• Direct numerical simulations and theoretical models.
  
  
  The Academy of Sciences has awarded the prix Ampère de l’Electricité de France 2021 to the geodynamo team.
