The ISTerre 2013 doctoral students’ congress

The 2013 congress of the laboratory’s doctoral students was held on June 18 and 19 in Roissard, Isère. This is an opportunity for these thesis students to present their work in a pleasant and friendly environment. This 2013 edition brought together about fifty participants, doctoral students but also researchers and permanent engineers.

Both days were organized around short presentations from the first years and longer presentations from the second years. Synthetic and well-publicized presentations made it possible to understand the scope of everyone’s work and opened up many exchanges around scientific questions and results.

These days were also an opportunity to discuss the doctoral students’ expectations regarding their thesis, relations with the thesis director, the team and the rest of the lab, training through research during the thesis, after the thesis... Interactions appreciated by all, which open the door to more in-depth debates and questions in view of the next five years.
