Crack the ice - Craquer la banquise

Objectives : Explore the polar ice, observe its changes, and experiment like an Arctic scientist.

For : Primary school (from age 7), Middle and High School Students

Sea ice covers the Arctic Ocean; a fascinating yet little-known region that has drawn scientists and explorers for centuries. Using a fun interactive model, you’ll retrace the history of Arctic exploration and, just like a scientist, learn what sea ice really is. How does it form? How is it affected by the seasons? How do researchers study it? You’ll also discover some of its lesser-known aspects; including its mechanics. Indeed, winds and ocean currents constantly fracture and reshape the ice!
