Martine Lanson receives the prize for the best poster at the Cristech network’s national training days

The network CRISTECH (Crystal Growth - Crystallization / Mission for Transversal and Interdisciplinary Initiatives of the CNRS) organized its national meetings from 10 to 12 October 2018.

This national training event brought together researchers (public and private), students, technical staff and students around the issues of crystal growth, with a series of courses and invited presentations. Participants (including 3 ISTerre members) also had the opportunity to present their work on crystal growth or crystallization in the form of oral or poster presentations.

During these days,Martine Lanson, was awarded the prize for the best presentation for her poster entitled "Synthèse hydrothermale de smectites de cristallochimie contrôlée" prepared with Baptiste Dazas and Eric Ferrage (IC2MP - Poitiers).

Martine Lanson is a chemical synthesis technique engineer in the teamMineralogy and Environments. In the laboratory, she synthesizes and/or purifies a wide range of inorganic and mineral compounds such as clay minerals that are the subject of the work presented. These syntheses are carried out by soft chemistry or sol-gel under different hydrothermal conditions. Martine Lanson’s work consists in modulating the experimental conditions (chemistry, P, T,...) to obtain specifically the desired compound but also to control certain properties of interest (trace element content, charge density, specific surface area, nature and defect density,...) according to the scientific objective to be achieved.
