A Great Moment of Science and Exchange : Highlights from the 2025 PhD Student Congress
On June 18 and 19, the latest edition of the ISTerre PhD Students’ Conference took place in the inspiring setting of Sappey-en-Chartreuse. Organized by the PhD students themselves, this event highlighted the diversity of research conducted within the laboratory.
The program included oral presentations, poster sessions, scientific discussions, and social moments. The goal of these two days was not only to showcase the work of young researchers but also to strengthen exchanges between teams and foster cohesion within the ISTerre community.
This edition was marked by the excellence and commitment of the participants. Two awards were presented :
- Maureen Gunia received the prize for Best Poster : The Chamrousse ophiolite (Western Alps, France) is not a Cambro-Ordovician Ocean
- Martin Hurautwon the prize for Best Oral Presentation, for his talk entitled : "U–Pb dating of fossil oyster calcite : new insights for shallow marine environments"
Congratulations to them for the clarity and impact of their contributions !
A big thank you to the PhD student representatives for the success of this edition, and thanks to everyone who helped make this conference a highlight in the life of the lab
