ISTerre Contributes to AXA-Funded Research on AI and Remote Sensing to Anticipate Natural Disasters

As climate change increases the frequency and intensity of natural disasters, innovative technologies are becoming essential to anticipate and mitigate their impacts. ISTerre is contributing, with support from AXA funding, to the AXA Research Fund’s latest publication, New Tech for NatCat, which explores how remote sensing and artificial intelligence (AI) are transforming disaster preparedness and risk management.

The report highlights how satellites, drones, and AI tools can monitor environmental changes, predict hazards, and support rapid response efforts. From improving early warning systems to guiding disaster relief and insurance strategies, these technologies are helping communities become more resilient.
