The considerable databases accumulated over the past 20 years, as well as the extensive surveys conducted since 2009, have served as a basis for the ANR SLAMS project entitled "Multidisciplinary Studies of the Séchilienne Movement : hazards, associated risks and socio-economic consequences". This three-year project began in January 2010 and involves, in addition to INERIS, university partners (Grenoble, Besançon and Nice, Aix en Provence). Its aim is to better understand the mechanisms of deep deformation of the massif and to model the dynamics of large ground movements and their susceptibility to potential external forcing. In addition to the study of hazard and vulnerability, it aims to propose a better structuring of risk governance by involving partners from so-called "soft" sciences such as the human and social sciences. Interdisciplinarity between partners from different backgrounds is therefore one of the strong and innovative points of this project.
