**Getting to ISTerre Grenoble

ISTerre’s main laboratory is located on the campus of the University of Grenoble-Alpes (UGA) in Saint-Martin d’Hères/Gières.

– Getting here by train (SNCF)

Grenoble is linked to Paris and Lyon-St. Exupéry airport via direct, high-speed trains (TGV).

Trams to the UGA depart every 5 minutes from the Grenoble train station. Take tram line "B" towards "Gières plaine des sports". Get off at the stop "Bibliothèque universitaire".
From tram stop "Bibliothèque universitaire" head north (tram platforms are oriented north-south), cross "Rue des Mathématiques" and follow a concrete, tree-lined sidewalk. Cross "Rue de la Chimie". Continue walking in the same direction on a narrow sidewalk until you reach a wide street called "Rue de la Piscine". ISTerre is located on the other side of the street, a 3-story white building with a unique X-shape when seen from above. The main entrance faces the street and is located in the middle of the south X legs. (Total walking distance : 500 m, about 5 minutes)

– By plane

>Lyon-St Exupéry International Airport (airport code LYS) is located 100 km from Grenoble.

The most convenient way to reach Grenoble from Lyon Airport is via a frequent shuttle service called "Navette OuiBus". The shuttle will bring you directly to the Grenoble train station in just over an hour with prices starting at €9.90. Shuttles depart hourly or half-hourly depending on departure time. You can purchase your ticket on the website or it at the airport transport counter during working hours.

There are quite a few SNCF trains between the airport and Grenoble ; however, if you choose to travel by train we recommend the direct, high-speed TGV trains.

>Geneva International Airport (code GVA) is located about 150 km from Grenoble.
The most convenient way to reach Grenoble from Geneva Airport is via a frequent shuttle service that leaves from the airport and brings you directly to the Grenoble Train Station in 2h15 for 45€. It runs every 2h30. You can reserve a seat up to 15 minutes before shuttle departure.

– By car

If you are coming from Lyon (highway A48) or from Gap/Sisteron (N175/N185), follow signs towards Chambéry, Rocade Sud. If you are coming from Chambéry (highway A41), follow signs for Lyon/Valence, Rocade Sud.

Take the first exit off of "Rocade Sud" and you will reach the Campus of St Martin d’Heres. (This exit is marked as number 3 on the campus map.) When you reach the first roundabout, continue driving in the same direction (Avenue de Vignate). When you reach the second roundabout, turn right (Rue de la Piscine). Turn right again at the next roundabout (Rue de la Papeterie). Take the next road on your left (Rue de la Piscine). ISTerre is the white building on the right-hand side. Parking is located behind the institute.
