Fabrice COTTON (44 years old) is Professor of Geophyics at the University Joseph Fourier (Grenoble). The principal focus of his research is the characterization of strong ground-motion with a special emphasis on the improvement of European ground motion models and the development of new inversions techniques related to large earthquakes sources studies. He is actually the PI of the working group in charge of the strong ground-motion modeling for the FP7 SHARE program (Seismic Hazard Harmonization in Europe). He is author or co-author of over 60 publications on referenced international journals and he has been supervising or co-supervising 14 PhD students since 2001. He has been involved, as an external consultant, in a number of international consultancy projects involving seismic hazard assessments of critical facilities in France and Switzerland. He has been elected as junior member of « Institut Universitaire de France »
