Training course "Using Ambient Vibration Array Techniques for Site Characterization"

We are pleased to announce the 11th edition of the course entitled "Using Ambient Vibration Array Techniques for Site Characterization, Seismic Microzonation and buildings" that will be held in Beirut, Lebanon, from September 19th to September 25th, 2016.

Supported by the SESAME, SISMOVALP, NERIES and EPOS-IP projects, detailed research has been accomplished to assess the reliability and robustness of ambient vibration techniques for site characterization. Within this context hardware and open source software developments have been carried out to ease the acquisition, processing and interpretation of ambient vibration wave field recordings. This course is intended to achieve the necessary understanding of all aspects, from planning an acquisition to the interpretation of quantitative information about the subsurface structure as well as extracting dynamic parameters of buildings. It is targeted to researchers/engineers/students from any country.

The official language will be English.

The details program, practical aspects and registration procedure are available on Geopsy.org web site at : http://www.geopsy.org/array_course_program.html

The deadline for on-line registration is fixed to June 15th, 2016.

Do not hesitate to forward this announcement to colleagues or students interested by ambient vibrations as a tool for subsurface characterization.

Also, do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
